Things Connected Innovation Showcase

Digital Catapult hosted an Innovation Showcase at the end of November 2017 as the grand finale of the Things Connected innovation programme, focused on LPWAN solutions for Independent Living and Social Housing.

The invited audience included representatives from a dozen Local Authorities, plus Housing Associations, Care Homes, service providers and charities all involved in the Housing and Care sectors across the UK. They had come to see the innovative work of the SMEs who had successfully completed a 6-week innovation programme.

Franklyn Manoharan and Nigel Roberts from Golding Homes

This was the second Things Connected innovation programme, and was structured differently to the first in several ways. Most notably this programme involved considerable input from client organisations - Croydon Council, Friends of the Elderly, and Golding Homes. Our innovators valued the opportunity to work closely with them, getting a deeper understanding of their business challenges and opportunities for Internet of Things to help.

Each of the innovators that completed the programme were invited to give a 5-minute pitch to the audience, which were very well received:

After the pitches, there was a quick award ceremony and group photo, followed by demonstrations and networking with the innovators and audience. Many congratulations to all the businesses involved in the programme!
